Jenny Bennett Fandom

The trio consults supernatural expert Reginald "Skull" Skulinski, who speculates the house must be a rare type of monster created by the fusion of a human's spirit and a man-made object that can only be unbound when its heart is struck. Ascertaining that the presumably-deceased Nebbercracker is the cause, the trio construct a dummy filled with cough syrup Chowder stole from a pharmacy owned by his father. They offer the dummy to the house to eat, hoping to put it to sleep so they can find its "heart" (its furnace). Landers and Lister then inadvertently foil the plan as the former discovers the stolen medicine; as they attempt to arrest the trio, the house soon eats them all. Separated from the officers, the children explore the sleeping house and end up in its basement.

Constance's Reawakening

When DJ and Jenny reach the crane's arm, DJ was very scared to do it, but Jenny tells him that he can and kisses him with encouragement, giving him the confidence to do so. The trio see Nebbercracker dancing with Constance's spirit before she fades away. Nebbercracker fell in love with Constance when he first met her at the circus.

When his parents (Catherine O'Hara and Fred Willard) go away for the weekend, he tries convincing his babysitter Zee (Maggie Gyllenhaal) that there is something wrong about the house. She does not believe him, so DJ enlists the help of his best friends Chowder (Sam Lerner) and Jenny (Spencer Locke), a girl selling Halloween candy (and who nearly gets eaten by the house). Together, the three of them try to destroy the monster house, along the way figuring out its secret.

He even confiscated toys that ended up on his lawn so they never returned, piling them up in the house's basement. As he did this, Constance's anger was softened as she was no longer bothered, and obviously underwent a deep sleep. Overtime, rumors around Horace and his wife rose up, with some speculations that Horace was a cannibal who fattened his wife before devouring her. The only one who was suspicious with Horace's grumpy and wrathful attitude was DJ Walters, a boy whose hobby was to spy on the old man.

Final Rampage and Death

At the site of his house, Nebbercracker, with the help of DJ, Jenny, and Chowder, returns all the items he confiscated back to their owners. As Jenny goes home with her mom, Nebbercracker bids farewell to DJ and Chowder while giving Chowder his basketball back and jokingly tells them to stay off his lawn. As the boys leave, Chowder states that Nebbercracker will find a way to get his life back on track.

He stated that like mortal beings, it can only be killed by the destruction of its heart. Exploring the bowels of the house, Jenny ends up fighting off more possessed furniture, and meets up with DJ. The two ultimately locate Chowder and encounter the remains of Constance, then attempt to extinguish the furnace, without success, after which, giant pipes capture each of them.

Tales from the Darkside: The Movie (4K Ultra HD Collector’s Edition Review)

Judging from the photos that Jenny, DJ and Chowder found in the house, it was shown that her extreme obesity was due to her love of food. At some point, she became an unwilling member of a circus freak show, where she was known as the "Giantess" and "The Lady as Big as a House", and in that very show, she was mocked and abused at by the audience, especially children. Not only that, whenever the show wasn't going on, she was forced to live in a cage far away from the circus proper. Whilst managing to calm the house down, Nebbercracker laments over the fact that he has failed to keep his wife's wrath from hurting others and turning her into what she is now a true monster. This saddens the house and provides Nebbercracker an opportunity to end his wife's suffering using a stick of dynamite. The house, however, does not take this well and grabs Nebbercracker to eat him for this apparent betrayal before DJ, Chowder, and Jenny arrive just in time with an excavator, which proves effective against the house.

This celebration is short lived, however, as Constance's control over the house is still intact and she manages to reform it from its broken remains, resulting in a more horrific and monstrous form that proceeds to devour the excavator before chasing Chowder. Terrors that they have endured caused Chowder and DJ arguing with each other with Chowder planning on going home to make a pretzel sandwich while Jenny breaks up their fight and saying they're acting like babies. DJ considered abandoning the case after being fed up with the argument, only to be unexpectedly hit by an ambulance by accident which turned out to be hijacked by the still-living Horace. Horace then lashed out to the trio to leave, but his wrath quickly changes into worries as he realized that kids would be approaching his house while asking what day it is. He then approaches his house, which becomes possessed again, but became somewhat gentle to him. By this point, DJ learned that, all this time, the house was possessed by Constance's restless spirit.

Jenny decides to call for the police, but when police officers Landers and Lester arrive, they do not believe their story, as the house does not react to the kids' teasing while the cops are there. The three realize that no one is going to believe their experience with the house and decided to keep it to themselves. Despite how he appeared to the neighborhood in present time, Nebbercracker does love children, realizing none of them had malicious intent, instead having fun on Halloween. To this end, he even protected some children from his wife who tried attacking them with an axe, however, this ended up costing the life of his wife. Back on July 21, 2006, the Columbia Pictures stylized computer animated film Monster House hit the silver screen.

Nebbercracker starts to get mad, but DJ calmed him, and ask him about the truth. He spent four decades trying to protect the kids by scaring them and pretending to be mean so they’ll leave the house alone, which made DJ realized that Constance was behind everything, and she never crossed to the afterlife. Nebbercracker blamed himself for what happened to her, and was willing to keep going for as long as he could to keep DJ and the kids safe.

So, they schemed a plan to make a dummy full of cold medicine, hoping that the drugs were enough to render the house sleeping. Unfortunately, Officer Landers and Officer Lister interfere, and upon seeing objects that they used to render the house asleep, they wrongfully arrest the kids. With the monster house snoozing, the kids searched and found years worth of confiscated toys and a cement memorial to Mr. Nebbercracker’s wife, Constance the Giantess. The house awakes, attacks, and the resourceful kids cause it to vomit them out. Mr. Nebbercracker returned from the hospital and disavowed the rumor circulating around town that he murdered his wife. Instead, he confessed he had loved Constance, a member of a circus side show known for her obesity.

DJ and Chowder then return to DJ's room with Jenny to continue the investigation. They later witness a dog named Kevin who approaches the lawn and urinates on it, only to be eaten by the house. Witnessing this, they realize that the house only moved when the unsuspecting victim approaches, and Jenny decided to call the police. Upon realizing what his wife had become, Horace was forced to pretend to hate children for their safety, putting up signs and screaming at them to keep off his property.

When DJ recovered his friend Charles “Chowder’s” ball from his neighbor’s lawn, Mr. Nebbercracker raged until he collapsed from an apparent heart attack. Although the police will not believe any reports, with Mr. Nebbercracker’s absence, the house begins “eating” kids who trespass. DJ and Chowder join forces with Jenny Bennett and discover the house is a monster made by merging a soul and an object. Since the only way such a creation can be destroyed is to destroy its heart, the heart of the house, they decide it must be the furnace. They stuff a dummy with stolen cold medicine to make the monster house sleep, but police interfered, and the house ate them, police car, drug-laced dummy, and all. Nebbercracker is first seen yelling at a little girl who accidentally ended up on his lawn while riding her tricycle.

As the house tries to eat Nebbercracker, Chowder fights the house off with an excavator, causing it to fall into a pit. Nebbercracker then lashes them out to leave, but his wrath was quickly changed into worries as he realized that kids would be approaching his house. He then starts walking towards his house which somewhat became gentle to him. By this point, DJ learned that all this time, the house was possessed by Constance's spirit. They make a plan to find the heart and put out the fire while Chowder asks if there is more options.

Constance then uses her new arms and tears the house free from its foundations by lifting herself up with zero pain and begins to chase her husband and the kids while meting out destruction. The four run in terror, going down an alleyway where Horace is forced to stay behind due to his old age preventing him from keeping up and encourages the kids to go on without him. Against his friends' protests, DJ tries to talk some sense with Horace about the truth behind his wrathful and suspicious behavior. Horace was, at first, furious after he had discovered the truth, but calmly relents when DJ asks if he really killed her and he nods no and tells them both his and Constance's story.
